Week of 2/2-2/6

This was my first official week at NewTv, so I was only there two days all week. Even though I wasn’t at NewTv very often during this week I still learned many new things. The very first thing I learned was how to look at a video and analyze it, I learned how to look at a video and recognize the issues with both the actual video recorded as well as the audio, how to know if the white balance/ color balance is off (how close the colors you see on the recorded video are to the actual colors the human eye sees), etc. This was all just within my first day. The second day I was there I watched the other two interns I work with control the audio board and switcher(the machine that switches what camera is shown on screen and anything else that you see on the screen). Since the other two interns have a little different schedule than me they are there more often so they had more experience with the control room so Mike had me watch them so I could gradually learn what to do. I learned the basic functions of the audio board, and afterwards I learned how to correctly strike the set and put all the equipment away. My first week at NewTv went very well and I learned many important things regarding the work we do at NewTv.
