Week of 3/16-3/20

Once again this week was a fairly typical week at NewTv, but with some new stuff mixed in. We had several shoots for which I controlled the audio board for, which took a tiny bit to set up for because the gain levels were weird and the audio coming through the microphones was very low, so I had to adjust that to make sure it worked and sounded okay. This week the other two interns and I also began editing a short skit they had made. Mike told us we should Adr the lines as well as a couple of sound effects we had in the video. Adr stands for “Automatic Dialogue Replacement”. Basically Adr is the same as voice overs, so the other two interns and I recorded their lines over again so we could get clean sounding audio, which is the whole point of Adr’ing, to get clean professional sounding audio. Mike also taught me how to edit the Adr we had done into the video and how to make sure they line up with whatever is making that sound. Mike also had me look for sound effects to use which was new to me and was a fun experience that allowed me to use my imagination and be creative. Through out the week I learned several new things, and also continued doing all the normal stuff I do on a daily basis, and each week I learn something new and hope to learn something new every week that is to come.
