Week of 3/23-3/27
The first shoot of the week was for Thats The Law,normally the host has 1 or 2 guest however this time she had 3 guest so setting up the set was a little more involved than usual. We had to set up four chairs, 4 microphones, and the rest of the set for the show. This week I learned a couple new things about setting up graphics for shows, I learned how to set up the lower thirds(names that come on screen when a specific person is on camera), and I learned how to create credits. Through out the rest of the week I had a few other shoots and I had a check in at NewTv with Mr. Gianquitti so he could see what I did there and talk to me and my boss, Mike, about how everything was going so far. Later in the week I did a little more Adr’ing(voice over) for the skit the other two interns were working on and finished editing the audio into the video to finally get a finished product. Mike also let me borrow one of the field video cameras to use over the weekend to make some youtube videos, so over the weekend I was able to become a little more familiar with these cameras and how they work. One of the things that I have found to be very beneficial about working at NewTv other than learning in studio about all the equipment or learning about the control room, I am allowed to borrow any of the equipment basically whenever I want and it’s a great way to become even more familiar with the type of equipment I use daily.
